UNIVERSITY OF MYSORE ADMISSION NOTIFICATION
University of Mysore (UOM) invites applications online, through its online admissions portal from eligible candidates for various Post Graduate programs in Science. The University will select students through a written test.
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following Post-Graduate Degree Courses.
Group 1: Zoology, Applied Zoology, Botany, Bio-Technology, Microbiology, Genetics, Sericulture and Seri Biotechnology, Bio-Chemistry, Molecular Biology.
Eligibility Criteria Course Wise
PG Course: M.Sc. Biochemistry
Eligibility Criteria: B.Sc. with Biochemistry/ Chemistry as a Major/Optional subject.
PG Course: M.Sc. Biotechnology
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Science including Agriculture, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary, Dairy, Fisheries, Horticulture, Forestry from any University recognized by UGC/ICAR/AICTE/ Medical Council with an aggregate minimum of 55% marks.
Note: A list of 10 selected candidates will be provided by the coordinator of All India Entrance Examination conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru University and the remaining 06 seats will be filled up as per University of Mysore regulations. In addition to the above, 5 candidates will be filled up under UNESCO-RCB Sponsoring scheme.
PG Course: M.Sc. Genetics
Eligibility Criteria: Any Bachelor Degree In life Science including medicine, Pharmacy, Dental, B.E, in Biotechnology, Agriculture and Veterinary Science from any University/institution recognized by UGC/ICAR/AICTE/Medical Council.
PG Course: M.Sc. Microbiology
Eligibility Criteria: B.Sc. with Microbiology as one of the Major/ Optional subjects from University of Mysore or any other University equivalent thereto
PG Course: M.Sc. Sericulture and Seri-Biotechnology
Eligibility Criteria: B.Sc. with Sericulture as one of the cognate subjects of the study or any Life Science/Biological Science/Agricultural Science subjects
PG Course: M.Sc. Molecular Biology
Eligibility Criteria: Students of Bachelors of Science degree from any UGC recognized Universities with life Science subjects are eligible. Students from professional degree such as Pharmacy, Dental, Agricultural, Medicinal, Veterinary, Engineering with Life Science are also eligible. Students from Foreign National degree will apply through equivalence committee. Minimum percentage of marks is as prescribed by the University of Mysore regulations for admission.
Entrance Examination is Compulsory for all Postgraduate-Degree courses for all candidates (except Foreign National). Candidates have to apply and appear for entrance examinations separately for each course.
For admission to any PG degree course, candidates have to get qualified in the respective entrance examination by securing a minimum 08 marks in case of SC / ST / Cat-I candidates / 09 marks in case of OBC and 10 marks in case of other candidates out of 50 marks.
Candidates who have appeared for final semester examination of the qualifying degree can also appear for entrance examinations without waiting for their results. Original marks cards shall be submitted later at the time of admissions if they are selected.
Filing an application for the entrance examination and later for admission shall be through ONLINE ONLY. The online portal will be opened from 15-05-2019 and the last date for filing the application for entrance examination is 10-06-2019.
The payment of fees shall be through ON-LINE / E-Payment only with SBI.
Candidates (irrespective of category) have to pay separately Rs.600/-(Rupees Six hundred only) for the entrance examination for each course.
Admission shall be made on the basis of the merit list prepared by taking into consideration 50% of the aggregate marks obtained in the relevant subjects in the qualifying degree examination and 50% of marks obtained in the entrance examination.

Candidates who will be admitted to PG Diploma / Diploma / Certificate courses etc are not eligible for any scholarships / hostelships and reimbursements Fee if any.
Applications without valid certificates and incomplete information will not be considered, and are liable to be rejected.
Admissions will be made as per the Government Orders issued from time to time relating to reservation of seats. Allotment of seats to Other Universities(OU) candidates is as per the existing rules of the Government of Karnataka
