Essential Qualifications for Laboratory Intern
- MSc in any branch of life sciences
- BSc (with two years’ experience in similar work) in any branch of life sciences
- Age below 40 years on January 1, 2019.
Desirable Qualifications: Basic experience in DNA & RNA laboratory work
Nature of Duty: Preparation of reagents, maintenance of equipment, autoclaving, providing assistance in laboratory work and related routine activities including maintenance of referral database. Collection of samples from hospitals and dispatch of reports.

Genetic Services Unit (GSU) has been jointly established in 2016 by the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India & Government of West Bengal. The Unit is wholly supported by a grant, received annually, from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal. The objective of GSU is to provide reliable diagnosis for various genetic defects that manifest either at birth or later in life.
