NITTE University Notification for Ph.D. Program 2019-20 (June)
Applications are invited from candidates with Master’s degree, seeking admission to Part Time or Full Time course of study leading to the award of a degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in the faculty of Medical (Pre, Para & Clinical Medicine) / Dental / Pharmacy / Nursing / Physiotherapy / Allied Health Science / Biological Sciences and Humanities of the Nitte (Deemed to be University).
Ph.D. Fellowships
A limited number of Meritorious Full-Time candidates will receive Nitte (Deemed to be University) Ph.D. Fellowships of Rs. 15,000/- per month for a duration of three years.
External Part Time candidates shall be permitted to register for Ph.D. subject to the recognition by Nitte (Deemed to be University) of his/her parent Institution as a Centre of Ph.D. studies. For details such as Regulations, approved list of Ph.D. Guides please refer the website www.nitte.edu.in.
How to apply
Filled-in application shall be sent to the Registrar, Nitte (Deemed to be University), Medical Sciences Complex, Deralakatte, Mangalore – 575 018 along with the application fee of Rs.3,000/- by A/c Payee D.D. drawn in favour of Nitte (Deemed to be University) payable at Mangalore on or before 31-05-2019.
A “Statement of Purpose” (in the format provided with the application form) has to be submitted along with the application. The Test Admission Tickets will be sent to the eligible applicants only.
Entrance Test Details
An Entrance Test (60 MCQs of 1 mark each from the specialty selected in application and 30 MCQs of 1 mark each on Research Aptitude) of 90 minutes duration will be held at the Examination Hall, 3rd Floor, K. S. Hegde Medical Academy, Deralakatte, Mangalore – 575 018 on Monday, 1st July 2019 at 9.30 AM followed by an interview at 11.30 AM and onwards.
Applications of candidates who appear for entrance test and personal interview alone will be considered for selection. The final selection will be based on the Written test, Interview and Statement of Purpose Inter se merit lists prepared for each faculty will form the basis for the award of the NU Ph.D. Fellowships.
Candidates who do not qualify for the Fellowship but otherwise meet the admission requirements (including a minimum of 50% score in the written test) will also be offered admission sans the fellowship.
