Applications are invited for the Scientist position – Job Code-1231:
One of the major current research themes at CSCR is the use of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) technology for disease modelling and clinical applications. We have established a very good facility with standardized protocols for the generation of iPSCs for these applications.
The selected scientist will join the faculty scientists and technical staff working in this area to generate, characterize and bank iPSCs. After initial training and supervision, as needed, the scientist should be able to manage the facility independently with the support staff and participate in further research involving iPSCs.
Qualification and Experience:
- Ph.D., in life sciences with 3-5 years post-doctoral research experience
- Experience in generation and maintenance of iPSCs is desirable. If the selected candidate does not have experience in iPSCs an initial 6 months training will be provided. However, a strong background in techniques for in vitro cell culture of primary cells is required.
- Experience in cell banking and good manufacturing practice (GMP) will be an advantage.
The initial appointment will be for three years. Depending on the performance in the initial three years, a long-term position may be possible.
Salary will be commensurate with experience
